Escambia Christian thrives on its small class sizes.  Children experience a more enjoyable and advantageous teacher-to-student ratio, supporting the school's philosophy and dedication to a rigorous learning environment.

Objective and

Philosophy

At Escambia Christian School, a student's total development involves the Soul, Mind, and Body. The primary objective at ECS is to incorporate these three concepts into each student's daily routine so that they will be able to reach their full potential.

In order to achieve this objective, ECS provides students with teachers who have a strong devotion to God, who prepare for their classes accordingly, and who demonstrate a willingness to serve. These qualities, as well as many others, are ones that each faculty and staff member at ECS strives to possess.

Curriculum

Escambia Christian School offers classes for students in Pre-kindergarten through eighth grade. The programs of study for Pre-Kindergarten through Kindergarten are designed to challenge each student mentally, stimulate physical growth, and encourage proper spiritual and social development.

Students in first through eighth grade pursue approved courses of study that are similar to the curriculum of public schools.

Bible: In addition to these standard courses, great emphasis is placed on the teaching of daily Bible lessons and participation in daily chapel or devotionals.  Bible course taught by active Church of Christ members.

Application Process

  • An applicant to ECS must submit a copy of grades for work previously completed at other schools.

  • A satisfactory score on the ECS entrance exam is required of all new students to ensure proper grade placement.

  • Payment of the registration fee is required at the time application is made to ECS.

  • Applicants and their parents must agree to support the policies of Escambia Christian School.

Beginning in fall of 2009, ECS began the Accelerated Reader program for First through  Fifth grades.

Accelerated Reader (AR) is the most popular and successful reading of all time.

AR's advanced technology helps to:

  • Personalized reading practice to each student's current level.

  • Manage all reading activities including "read to," "read with," and "read independently."

  • Assess students' reading with four types of quizzes: Reading Practice, Vocabulary, Literacy Skills, and Textbook Quizzes.

  • Build a lifelong love of reading and learning.
